“ Looking for something to eat after 10 pm, we were luckily saved by the amazingly friendly staff at Shifting Sands, which was almost the only place still serving food. We’ve wanted to come here for some time since it looks like such a cosy place and is always packed with people. The Tuna steak (catch of the day on the menu) was very tasty and big, served on top of an amazingly fresh mango cucumber salad. I was surprised by how full I felt, as I was very hungry before eating it. The grilled shrimp was also the tastiest we had in Sri Lanka, coated in a delicious garlic butter sauce and served with tasty fries and salad. The prices were also amazing compared to other similar places here. Definitely recommend this place for its nice chill vibes, great service, amazing food and affordable prices! ”

“ I recently visited a cozy little restaurant in Unawatuna and I must say, it exceeded my expectations! The restaurant was affordable compared to the other locations on the road, yet the quality of food was exceptional. The ambience was downright cozy with a nice small area to sit and read books and sip on your drink. For starters, we tried the fish cakes which were absolutely delicious. They were crispy on the outside and full of flavor on the inside. We also enjoyed a few refreshing juices, which were the perfect complement to our meal. For our main course, we ordered spaghetti with bacon & prawns, grilled seer fish, and a chicken burger. All of the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted just as good as they looked. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked and the bacon and prawns added a wonderful savory flavor to the dish. The grilled seer fish was fresh and had a lovely smoky flavor. And the chicken burger was juicy and packed with flavor, however the bun could have been a little bit more fresher. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a cozy and affordable dining experience in Unawatuna. “ We often went to the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food are always fresh and tasty. For lunch, I enjoy the seafood. Very delicious all food. We order full fish and big prawns, it was very good. The portions are big and enough to feel full. The staff are always nice. It is a good place to eat. Recomendation! ”
